When you opt in to SMS communications, we collect your mobile phone number. We do not collect additional personal information through the SMS platform unless you voluntarily provide it in a reply.

How We Use It

SMS messages are used to share urgent alerts, disaster-related updates, resource information, and announcements relevant to Humboldt County emergency preparedness and response. We will not use your phone number for marketing or commercial purposes.

Message & Data Rates

Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Humboldt COAD does not charge for SMS messages.

Opting Out

You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. You may also contact us directly to be removed. After opting out, you will no longer receive text messages from Humboldt COAD unless you opt back in.

Data Storage

SMS subscriber data is stored and processed through Grasshopper's platform and is subject to Grasshopper's privacy policy and security practices. We retain SMS subscriber information only as long as you remain opted in.

• Customer data is not shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes.

• Mobile opt-in and consent are never shared with anyone for any purpose. Any information sharing that may be mentioned elsewhere in this policy excludes mobile opt-in data.
