Humboldt COAD operates in tandem and in support of the county’s Office of Emergency Services, regional Tribal Governments, CalOES and Federal Agencies. Our goal is to continue expanding and enhancing public/private relationships for the betterment of the community.
Evacuation Mapping: The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services (OES), in collaboration with local governments and public safety partners, has established over 300 emergency zones throughout Humboldt County utilizing Zonehaven, an evacuation management platform. Residents are encouraged to "Know Your Zone" before the next emergency occurs by visiting the new interactive map on Zonehaven AWARE. Pre-established evacuation Zones help emergency service agencies prepare for, streamline, and reduce confusion around the evacuation process so that roads are clear for those who need to evacuate quickly.
Humboldt ALERT is Humboldt County’s public alert and warning system. This is an opt-in system, meaning you must sign up to receive the alert. Humboldt ALERT allows the Office of Emergency Services to contact thousands of residents in minutes, so you can find out about an emergency right away using methods that you choose, such as email, phone, and text message. Because you may not be near a television or radio when something happens, a local text or email alert can be an extremely useful source for critical information. Sign up now!
